What is a Shipping Data Report?

A Shipping Data Report is a report of the information that was supplied to the company(s) that shipped GM cars from the factory to the dealer.

The report contains:

Car VIN:
Date of Manufacture:
Dealer Zone:
Dealer Number:
Dealer Name:
Dealer City:
Dealer State:

This can be an important part of researching a cars history.  There is no guarantee that the dealer will still be in business or even if the dealer is still in business that they will maintain any records of your car.  But on the other hand they may still be in business and still have records. There may be someone at the dealership that remembers the car if it was special and can tell you who the first owner was.

Without the information on the delivery dealer one will never know.
